I am a sad sad girl who tried to break up with Star Wars, so a Damerons fairy tale AU? (But only if you want to!)

mihrsuri:

Okay so I don’t know exactly what fairy tale this is from (possibly several actually) but. Poe is a sweet prince with a talking horse (BB-8) who is to marry the King of a far away kingdom (Finn) who was recently rescued from an enchanted sleep by a mysterious knight (Rey) who did not give their name but disappeared after the rescue. But an evil sorcerer (guess who) wishes to have Poe for himself and to destroy both kingdoms and so he captures Poe and binds him a high tower. But BB-8 gets away and comes across Rey who comes across King Finn looking for his betrothed and they go on a quest to rescue Poe and destroy the evil sorcerer and then like, they all fall in love.

Finn & Rey in … “D____ in a Box: A Christmas Tale”

So, I owe this idea to @crayolasaurus who mentioned unique Finnrey gift-giving possibilities earlier in the year. As I was trying to figure out the best way to express it, someone sent me the Lonely Island video. As corny and problematique as I find that video (and JT in general, tbh), I had a thought on how to take that idea and make it cute for Finn and Rey. Thank you, Andie!

And many, many thanks to the amazing @cersell, who is not just a fantastic artist, but also a great friend.

So I ran. Right into you.

This was a confession of LOVE.

This scene + JJ saying that Rey was falling for Finn + the script saying she “already adores” him = how can people still say JJ wasn’t building a romance for them?!

I keep saying more happened between them in this one movie than what happens between many popular shipper couples on an entire season of a TV show….

If I met someone in my life that looked at me the way either of these two look at each other, I would bloody marry them.

Healthy, unconditional, true love. You don’t find that every day, not even in fiction.

Thanks to a @notbecauseofvictories post I am now thinking about the OT3 of my heart aka jedistormpilot Arthurian fix it fic and like I’m not sure who is who but MUCH WANT.

ok, my knowledge of the actual content of Arthurian myth is kind of shaky and non-existent, but here’s my opinion from a purely surface level standpoint:

Finn:  Arthur.  rightful king, though he didn’t know it until relatively recently when he pulled a sword out of a stone.  Not always sure what he’s doing, but has very good advisors.

Rey: Lancelot. noble and strongwilled, loyal to her king, very kickass.  Absolutely terrifying with a sword.  Falls for both Poe and Finn, naturally

Poe: Guinevere. raised by royalty (hi Leia!) betrothed to Finn early on, they are crazy for each other, but he’s instantly smitten with Rey when she arrives.

…and obviously there’s no affairs or burning upon pyres or anything like that.  Alternately Poe could be Gawain if you wanted another knight?  I don’t know why Gawain, I just like him.

Oh my gosh yes this is perfect (& yep, no burning for anyone. Unless it’s someone from the First Order who attempts to? @kingcaliphs ) and I love it.

Poe is a Prince, raised to marry a King, manage a castle, manage diplomacy and people. Finn was raised in obscurity, the one true King. Rey, born of the line of Avalon and magic with a sword. They cannot help falling in love, the three of them. But jealous Mordred, wishing Poe for himself, tries to ruin all.

(Spoiler he does not and the three of them create a golden age and have a whole bunch of children the end)

“I was raised to please my lord husband, whoever he might be,” Lord Dameron murmured under lowered eyes. “No matter what comes, I will endeavor to make you happy, my king.”

Finn didn’t reply; not immediately. He cupped Poe’s face in his hand, raising his head from his deferent position at Finn’s feet. “It would please me more if my betrothed would be himself, and to demonstrate his excellent horseriding skills. I’m useless on any four-legged creature.”

(BB-8 is a horse)

Also:

“I’ve seen many improbable things in my life,” King Finn of Artorias says, shaking his head, “but I’m not sure I’ve ever seen someone pin a rose to a tree with a crossbow.”

“I would have presented it to you by hand, my liege,” Lady Rey (though not a lady by any definition of the word) says with an infectiously-cheeky grin, “but I thought I’d impress you first.”

He is impressed.
